Helen spent almost a decade as a wine buyer for a big supermarket, travelling the globe sourcing wines. She then spent the next half a decade pregnant. Now working part-time in the wine industry, she writes a weekly wine blog,

The Knackered Mother’s Wine Club which receives 15,000- 20,000 hits a month and has won numerous awards includingRed Magazine’s Hot Women Awards – Best Blogger, International Wine & Spirit Competition – Best Blogger and Fortnum & Mason Food & Drink Awards – Online Drinks Writer.

In February 2013, the blog was turned into a book and it is currently the best-selling wine book in the UK, and due to be published in the US by Chronicle Books in 2015.

Helen also writes a weekly wine column for the Daily Mail’s Femail section.

Knackered Mother Helen says: “I am 40 years old, married with three children and I’m really tired. I probably should have washed my hair yesterday, I’ve just noticed there’s dried Weetabix on my t-shirt and I’ve got no idea what I am going to cook tonight. The washing pile is threatening to burst out of the basket, we’ve run out of milk and I think we’ve got people coming at the weekend. I work part-time, the kids are on holiday and did I mention I’m really tired?”
